Great lens. Excellent photo quality (even in lower light) and makes the Nikon 1 very portable.

Grabbed one of these to use for a convention (to make the camera real compact - I had a zoom in my side pack). It took great shots - even continuous in the lower and varying convention lighting.

Review: 1 NIKKOR 10mm lens

I purchased the 1 Nikkor 10mm f/2.8 lens as a "Museum" lens. For this purpose, it has done very well. It has since been supplanted by the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G after the Nikon FT-1 adapter came out but I still use the 10mm lens if I do not want to attract a lot of attention as it's very thin and if I want a wider field of view, especially if I'm indoors. With no VR, I have to be mindful of bracing the camera when taking photos at a slow speed (keeping ISO low for better quality). I have taken acceptable photos with shutter speeds as low as 1/8 sec which testify to the handling 1 Nikon system.

I purchased this lens to give me a compact package for indoor and action photography. It definitely excels in this niche. It is faster for available light photography than the two zoon lenses and makes for a nice tight package when on the ski slops.

My favorite lens for in close image making. Great for street shooting or working a family gathering indoors or out. Enlivens cityscapes when you stand toe-to-toe with skyscrapers. Provides marvelous depth of field in every situation. I choose this lens for night work or low-light level situations indoors, because it is fast and easily handheld.

This is my take everywhere lens...image quality is great ...if you have enough light! The Nikon 1 takes amazing pictures if you have enough light...period. you can't push the iso on this camera due to the sensor size. Solution (Nikon please!) make a faster lens...how about an f1.2 ? This would be an amazing take everywhere combo and would allow the Nikon 1 to kick some serious booty!
