It is not meant as a filter adapter per se.
It has a different thread pitch than standard 52mm filters.

Keep in mind folks this is a single purpose item: Per Nikon, "The UR-E22 is an Adapter Ring that is required for use with the WC-E75A Wide-Angle Converter Lens to attach it to the camera".

I agree with the previous review: for $49, you get a cheap plastic tube whose threads won't mate with the 52mm filter(s) it was designed for.

I have a new P7000 and purchased the UR-E22 Adapter Ring to be able to mount filters.
1. It is plastic.
2 It looks like it will mount standard 52mm but the thread will not mate up.
